High Heel - Think twice

My dear fashionistas, before you read the rest of my today's post I have to say that I am huge fan of high heels & platforms! The way your legs and bottom look is incomparably better. Recently I've ran into a medical article about stress our feet are under while in high-heeled shoes. It made me thinking that being fashion addict shouldn't be in front of one's health. It would be impossible for me (and most of you I'm sure) to give up from my beloved pumps but flats can be chic, stylish, trendy and same time very comfortable & healthy for our feet. Wedges are good start as well, you will still be high but pressure on your foot-front will be less.

I've selected some of the flats that are for almost any occasion and I sincerely hope some of you will get inspiration in it and change at least 1 pair of pumps for flats to give your feet mini holiday.

X-Ray of foot in high heeled shoe! - Beyond every postural deviation/compensation that must happen above, just look at the physical stress that is placed on the metatarsophalangeal joints !

  3. Great post. I am learning that now! As much money as I put into my shoes I need to make sure I put money in caring for my feet. More flats, shoe insoles, etc.

  8. I love this post.

I'm a physical therapist, and I've been taught that you shouldn't wear heels higher than 1". It sucks though, because most of the shoes are really beautiful (and make me feel pretty), but still.. Don't want to end up with crippled legs at 50...

  9. I really appreciate a post like this. Sometimes us women tend to choose fashion and trends over our health. I absolutely love the bow flat sandals! Where can I get them?

  13. Fashion is good, we love shoes, as any normal woman, but we need to be honest and think about our health first. I really enjoyed this post. I don't wear high heels all the time. I love it, it's great, you feel more elegant and, even someone tall as me will agree, it's good to look a little bit taller, and it make you look thinner too! But I don't like to wear it all the time. We have amazing shoes without high heels, you showed some by the way, and I think we should think a little bit before putting that killer shoes on. Ok, I'm not saying that we should never wear high heels, but if you wear more shoes without high heels you won't do that bad to your feet, right?

  17. I started wearing flats too after working in a hospital. Most of my colleagues warned me because they previously wore high heels and now they have problems with their feet.

But my new work place has a rule that all females MUST wear heels.. ARGHHH!
